Manufacturing activity in the region was mostly steady overall, according to the firms responding to the June Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey. The survey’s indicator for general activity edged lower but remained positive, while the indexes for shipments and new orders remained negative. The employment index increased but remained negative, continuing to suggest an overall decline in employment levels. Both price indexes continued to indicate overall price increases.
