Japan's consumer confidence improves in June

Japan's seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index was 36.4 in June, the country's Cabinet Office said in a report published on Monday. The figure was up from the previous month's 36.2 but came in slightly below expectations. The income growth indicator was up by 0.7 points to 40.6, while the overall livelihood index declined by 1 point to 33.8, and the employment index decreased 0.3 points month on month to 41.7. Meanwhile, the willingness to buy durable goods stood at 29.6, growing by 0.6 points compared to the month before.
