In May 2024 the number employed people slightly declined, while inactive persons rose and unemployed ones remained stable. On a monthly basis, the decrease in employment (-0.1%, -17 thousand) affected men and people in the 15-24 and 50+ age groups, while it increased for women and the middle age groups. Overall, the employment rate fell to 62.2% (-0.1 p.p.).
