IMF's Lagarde: Brexit Price Tag Could Be High for UK

London - The decision to leave the European Union might take a massive toll on the UK economy, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde said in an interview published in Le Monde newspaper on Monday. "Depending on the scenario, British GDP would drop by 1.5% to 4.5% but we haven't got the slightest idea how long talks between Britain and the EU will take, or the result," Lagarde was quoted as saying. She said the worst-case scenario would be one where Britain's status came under that of any third-country trading partner under the rules of the World Trade Organization.
