If the Fed starts to buy treasuries rather than continuing to drop central bank rates, what effect does that have on the USD ?

Service PMI figures due at 4.30 am est. If they are bad GBP should tank. Maybe this is why it appeared dislocated from the Dow action today.

Thanks Infinity. On the macro scale the news from across the pond is 2.5% drop on VAT - that's a soundbite IMHO - I can't see it having much effect at this stage of the game. 100Bn extra borrowing to be paid for by taxes on high earners over 150K ...

Was going to go long when I saw the first bounce on the 1hr 62 ema, but it was a head fake. Lucky I am too screwed on USD/CAD to take a position.........

Labour govt about to mess it all up again, just like the 70's. Of course, their gamble might actually pay off, but it depends what the market thinks tomorrow. Raising taxes on the high paid isn't always the best way to encourage inward ...

I'm new here. Howdy. Any feelings on continuation of trend of GBP. If we break 4550 could we see 1.36 to 1.38 in sights ? Novice trader - a year or so. Looking for any pointers.
