thread heading is confusing - if he's resigning than how does he challenge for leadership?? I agree that uncertainty will be A/U negative and that will probably continue as long as Abbott is leader. If Turnbull gets in (unlikely to be challenging if ...

No, it's still a downtrend so I've still been using your standard advice of selling the rallies. With the current 1hr candle I'm very happy!

Only doesn't make sense if you only look at the headlines (which are based on seasonally adjusted data). Report also says that there's another 40,100 unemployed with majority of them looking for full time work, whilst of the 38,500 "new" jobs two ...

You do realise that Federal Reserve is USA & that if they increase rates USD will strengthen, sending AUD lower? ASX rate tracker (based on futures pricing) indicated only a 9% chance of RBA increasing rates this meeting.

that doesn't explain being long until a specific time today & "the economy is likely to be operating with a degree of spare capacity for some time yet" doesn't spell rate increase anytime soon.

Not sure where he promised a rate rise? If you are referring to "The Federal Reserve is expected to start increasing its policy rate later this year" that's a reference to US interest rates.

This is dragging out because the powers that be haven't faced reality - they aren't going to get their debt repaid. Grant conditional debt forgiveness (the 2 conditions being that they can't join Putin & they can borrow no more). Greece then must ...

Best post here. Many others understand what is happening in Australia (I live in Melbourne) but seem to ignore that US economy dwarfs Australia so in an exchange rate dominates what happens to the pair. Since mid April USD has been in decline as ...
