Daily S2 is decent support so far. Poor US data will no doubt take us back up

I don’t think there is a conference either due to the election.. could be a dead one until NYO

Initial down, maybe expected. Haven’t heard statement though about future cuts

I don’t think we get a big movement, unless there is dovish commentary (MPC, minutes etc)

Morning all! BoE day, no cuts today, but what will bet interesting is the commentary and MPC votes. I’m still short however will keep an SL in place in case it’s hawkish and we spike up. If it goes to plan and we are slightly dovish we could see a ...

Looks like today was a liquidity hunt. We didn’t break 12750. This may also be down to the data meeting forecasted expectations which was lower than last month. BoE won’t cut rates tomorrow but any hint of a cut post election will see it down. If we ...

All eyes on BoE tomorrow this will more than likely stay in a tight range
Cable Update (GBPUSD)

not sure why the GBP is strong. The data shows inflation is low and rate cuts will happen this year maybe more than once too.

No US data today, this could be a long day us bears
Cable Update (GBPUSD)

the vote will be the mover. Even then I have a feeling it will be curtailed as having thr majority voting for a cut will only add fuel to the fire for next month after the election. This could also be a non moving event..

Inflation drops to target level.. BoE will be interesting. All depends on MPC vote count now. Not sure of the spike up unless that is a fake bull as the data is poor enough to increase votes to have a rate cut. I can’t see a cut this side of the ...

Tomorrow could be a bigger mover than Thursday and BoE, if inflation has dropped to the 2% area or lower than the pound could drop allowing a dovish BoE. However I’m not too sure.. 128 is open for another attempt

depends on where we close today, if tomorrow we see the forecast data we could drop like a stone to 12550-126

as expected data was red.. 127-12730 open before tomorrow
Cable Update (GBPUSD)

Feel this dump from 127 is a liquidity grab with US data being poor recently not expecting too much
Cable Update (GBPUSD)

Feels like the graveyard shift at the moment. Tight range etc. can’t see another drop for today, maybe tomorrow
Cable Update (GBPUSD)
- BeeTogether replied Jun 15, 2024
although BoE is independent of political parties a cut now would be propaganda for the current government saying we got rates reduced. However I do feel there could be a lean on to do something
Cable Update (GBPUSD)
- BeeTogether replied Jun 15, 2024
interesting.. i can’t see less than 2-7 voting for a cut, not sure what the impact of 2-7 and no cut would be thus staying with the status quo. If Thursday prints 3-6 then we will tank a bit. Due to the election I can’t see a cut taking place before ...
Cable Update (GBPUSD)

next week will be interesting I think this drop is down to rumblings in the BoE about rate cuts. Which in a way has the votes already priced in. Dangerous if the vote to cut remains at 7-2 as that could be seen as hawkish and a spike upwards. Monday ...
