One more thing on TPs for this system. I've noticed, but not thoroughly tested, that the opposite green CoG line to an SDL change acts as a good TP. For instance, on the last GBPJPY "bullish" SDL change, the top green CoG level was approx. 70 pips ...

No problem. This scheme has changed alot since I first posted it, as it's become much less dependent on the CoG for taking trades. Essentially, we look for confluence in the Slope_Direction_Line indicator and the UT_FAST. We see a high UT_FAST ...
CoG + Ultra Trend System
- rainingpips replied Jan 19, 2010
One thing I've noticed is the relationship of UT_FAST to the Slope_direction_line. For instance, a slope line change NOT accompanied by a similar UT_FAST movement will probably be a false or unprofitable trade. Vice versa, a strong UT_FAST movement ...

I'm working with a .dll import for trend following on the pairs I'm watching w/ Slope_Direction_Line. Going to try and put in an excel file. Slope_Direction_Line Trend Pips USDJPY: UP 45 AUDJPY: DOWN 4 GBPUSD: DOWN 40 EURUSD: DOWN 150 AUDUSD: DOWN ...

Quick update on SL anf TP on interdaily trades. In my AUDUSD trade, price opened above the pivot (which is normally where you want to sell), and would go to eventually bounce off the S2 (support line 2). I have found this to normally be the case ...

You're right, but what the CoG and MACD allows is a brief approximation of the expected magnitude of a move. For instance, today in AUDUSD. The Slope Line (20) & (35) both went negative along the <black> "median" CoG line. It was accompanied by weak ...

Here's my GBPUSD trade from this morning, up approx. 100 pips (about 96 with the spread). UT_FAST has plateaued, so we are looking to get out of this trade, with the trend reversing. Normally, once UT_FAST has surpassed the 15.5 "median" level it ...

Here's a current chart of GBPUSD from tonight that I traded from. Notice how UT_FAST began on a positive slope from a plateau below the "4" level, after there was a confirmation cross in the MACD, with bars moving to topside. Then the Slope ...

Wow this is fantastic! My expert programming skills are virtually ziltch unfortunately, hopefully I will be able to cope by the end of this year. One thing about the current expert. Since having originally posted this system, I use the CoG more as a ...

Why do you think the unemployment numbers are going to come out better than expected? 91.80?! That's 212 pips up from the open!!!

Went short @ the pivot (89.73), TP @ 89.60. This hopefully will hit before unemployment comes out; i don't want to have open positions when that comes out. Anyone trading unemployment? Technicals still look good for inter-daily bear trend (4hrs).

Just thought I'd mention this again to anyone bullish on this pair, but many of the Japanese funds and economists are predicting a slide into 70-65 territory by mid next year. I posted an article earlier in the thread. That's about 2000 pips ...

I'm net short this pair as well, however I doubt we'll see a major drop today as far as 88.XX's. This week in general has been rather nonvolatile, with most days closing down a few pips (with the daily average going down to 71 pips high to low). ...

Looks like PA is about done for the day, FPV for Sunday Evening should be around 90.15-90.08 and we'll definitely be below it. Should be good for a quick long of around 20 pips/

Well I got out of my short @ 90.62, looks like PA has since bounced off the FPV, difficult to say at the moment whether PA is headed to test MR1 or return to FPV. At the moment, my "4HR" trend indicator is serving as resistance (along with FPV), ...

Thinking about going short at the open in about 40 mins. My MACD is about to cross on the 5m chart. If we close around 90.79-83 area than the FPV will be about 90.52-54, and we'll be about 30 pips above it at the open. I'll have to see how the open ...

Why do you think that? It is helpful to include a chart or a reason. Just because PA spiked to 91.30ish doesn't necessary mean it is destined to return to that area . I actually see this pair going back down tonight into tomorrow.
