it's retraced a bit now, but it seemed to me like a good shorting opportunity having in mind last week's bar was an IB and we had just broken to the downside

just one thing... So, let's say you shorted 2 lots @1.5391 and stop loss was 1.5410. You would lose around (20) 40 pips. If you took that short trade twice you would lose around (40) 80 pips potentially. i've seen lots of people forgetting this, ...

exactly!! All this time when you'v talked about hard breaks, i'v always thought that it was imposible to know it was a hard and solid break unless you gave it some room first, meaning you wouldn't enter the trade after the first pip break in the IB. ...

I've seen it both ways so I think a clarification would be welcomed. wich of these two would qualify as a BEOVB? case 1 where open and close are outside previous bullish bar. case 2 , just high and low points are outside the previous one
