had a look at the uptrend of EUR/USD from Dec 2005 till now. it had a high of 1.2320, went down to 1.1825 and shot up 1,153 pips to 1.2978 eventually it went down to 1.2458, before going up again. suppose you were short between 1.2320 and 1.1825
