If we do it with a single pair for short-term profit, it would be very obvious. If we do something else...
Comparing Broker Ticks in Real Time
- MetaCoder replied Jun 9, 2017
What I'm wondering is if brokers' feeds sometimes lag behind the others, and if those lags can be detected and exploited. I have figured out how to monitor that and, last night, started implementing the system that will do it. If my system detects ...
Comparing Broker Ticks in Real Time
- MetaCoder replied Jun 9, 2017
PipMeUp, I wrote EAs that monitor large numbers of currency pair triangles within single brokers' feeds. The EAs detected frequent market inefficiencies (I call them "distortions"). If we had super fast trade execution and no spreads, we would have ...

Thanks for the great link, achab! I'm not talking about arbitrage.
Comparing Broker Ticks in Real Time

achab, I'm interested in your observations -- specifically, do you ever see significant differences in the exchange rates the different brokers are presenting on their trading platforms? Also, do you (or anyone else) have a list of brokers who offer ...

A very good, and possibly great, system for attaching the wormhole concept to is the one discussed in this thread: url The wormhole phenomenon would be used to find good entry points in the trade directions indicated by that system.

Very ambitious, very interesting, obviously a lot of work went into this.
My EA Gift to Traders

SL of 100 pips seems very arbitrary. Wormhole phenomenon should only be used to gain a more favorable entry point for a system that considers many things.

tsf, you say nothing about your criteria for trade entry, nor criteria for setting take-profit and stop-loss levels.
Wormholes - stochastic mismatch system

The wormhole concept could be added to almost any system, I would think. There are other things you would want to look at in a trade setup other than just where the market is in relation to the last wormhole or some group of recent wormholes. If the ...
Wormholes - stochastic mismatch system

You are right. I would add that when there are rare mathematical distortions that appear to offer profit potential, they are very fleeting. This fact combined with what you covered makes exploitation of triangles quite problematic indeed.
Three Pairs Hedging

That's the problem with any trade you place, ever, no matter the basis on which you entered the trade.

I do wish I had the time to explore the suggested enhancements as I'm sure they have merit. Thanks to all who are taking a look, thinking, and providing suggestions. Also I like seeing others take up new coding. Very cool.

Each EA is coded to compare two specific timeframes; it will work the same way no matter what timeframe chart you attach it to.
Wormholes - stochastic mismatch system

You really need to read the thread. If you would, you'd see that this EA does not place trades. Hence, nothing to backtest.

I make no claims about accuracy and my EAs on this thread don't embody a system. They show a very simple type of event that happens in the market and it's up to each trader to decide what to do with knowledge of the events. H1 and M30 timeframes ...
Wormholes - stochastic mismatch system

If the red line jumps up and down a lot, there is either a lot of market activity or maybe you're using the 1min-5min version of the EA. The wormholes stay more stable in the longer-timeframe versions. You might want to observe a while longer to ...
Wormholes - stochastic mismatch system

In your example, I would watch for a new wormhole above the price level where the short trade was opened, before closing the short trade. I would take this to mean that now the market is likely to pull the price farther away from my trade, making it ...

I make the source code available in the thread's first post, so the answer is there for the taking.
