Japan Oct Consumer Confidence Falls Unexpectedly
Consumer confidence in Japan decreased unexpectedly in October, data from the Cabinet Office showed Tuesday. The consumer confidence index fell to 38.9 in October from 39.9 in September. Economists had expected the index to rise to 40.5. All the four sub-indices decreased in October. The index measuring employment levels dropped 1.9 points to 44.7 and the 'willingness to buy durable goods' index slid 1.3 points to 36.5. The index measuring overall livelihood declined 0.7 points over the month to 36.4 and the index measuring income growth fell 0.2 points over the month to 38. by RTT Staff Writer For comments and ...
