DislikedSo I'm testing the strategy I coded and so far have had good execution times. For testing purposes I enter with market orders expecting to be filled instantly (for testing I don't care about slippage too much, execution time is more important to me for now).
These are the results from last night. This is a copy paste from my live account when I go to Report -> Order History on the webpage.

Now, to be fair, there were many more orders that fired and got filled almost instantly by MBT. Those 5 orders were filled 7 to 14 seconds later. I log on my side the price at the time I send the order in and the price I got filled at. You can imagine the slippage.
Having seen that, I implemented the timeout of 4 seconds (just an arbitrary number) for the entry order in my code. After 4 seconds I pull/cancel the order from MBT. Because of this 4 sec timeout I only was filled on 1 order in a day. All other orders were timed out and therefore canceled my my system.
Justin, could you please look into it. This is a big deal for me. At this point I don't care about the losses on those trades because it's only $1.50/pip and well worth the testing knowledge gained. But I will think twice before putting it live with larger volumes if it continues.
As always, thanks for all your time devoted to this forum. It never goes unnoticed.Ignored
Dislikedfiberangel,
I'll be more then happy to look into this for you, but I'm having a hard time following you here.
You say at one point "so far you have had good execution times" & "Now, to be fair, there were many more orders that fired and got filled almost instantly by MBT."....of the 5 orders below that had delays, what percentage of your trades was that? Did you place 200 trades and 5 were delayed or are we talking more like 5 of 20?
I believe your question is; Why were these 5 trade delayed? Is that correct?
BTW - I need your account number or account name in order to look into this for you. ([email protected])Ignored
DislikedJustin,
Thanks for fast reply. I've been running the system for a couple of weeks now and just started to experience these execution issues. Now, on 8-11 I had execution problems on 5 out of 15 or so orders.
Yes, my question is why those were delayed and I had 4-5 more today that I canceled because they weren't filled in 4 seconds.
I will send you an email with my account number. I thought you would be able to look it up based on the order id that I provided.
Thanks.Ignored

i have not been able to figure out from your commisisons page how to calculate commissions for GBP/JPY pair, can u give me an example for 10 lots ( 100,000 USD )
thanks
NishaIgnored
DislikedCommissions are always calculated on the base currency to the USD.
So GBP/JPY we would use the GBP/USD or EUR/JPY we would use EUR/USD.
Make sense?Ignored
Dislikedif its not a bother, can you do a example here to show it, you can take your time and do it in ur leisure
thanks

DislikedJustin,
Is there a way to set a limit order and a stop loss order at the same time if you are already in a position.
Example:
I have a LONG positon for
EURUSD at 1.4800
I want to set a LIMIT SELL at 1.4850
and I want to to set a STOP LOSS at 1.4780
I know how to do one of the orders at a time, but was wondering if I can do both at the same time if I already HAVE the EURUSD position.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say because when I called mbt the guy on the phone did not and was just telling me about the combo orders to get into a position, which is not what I was looking for.
Thank you for your time.

DislikedThank you Justin, that is what I was looking for.
Is there a way to make my screen say Take profit and Stop loss like on your screen instead of Upper trigger and Lower trigger, which I see on my screen?
Thanks again, Justin.Ignored
DislikedWhen you change the BUY/SELL action button it should do it automatically.Ignored
DislikedOn Justin's screen its the lil' red button on the left side above the cancel button.
Justin is there someplace or something I can do to see all my previous orders, ie order history? I'd like to trake my win/loss ration in my own spreadsheet but don't know where to get all the history of my orders. For both demo and live accts.
Thanks

DislikedThere are several newbies who are having trouble with forex trades and its charge. The stoploss is automatically set once you sign a contract with a certain leverage and spread. You don't have to worry about it but you have to make sure you read the fine-print that your broker gives you. That's something you should be more careful about and that's your chance to shop for the right brokers. Beware of certain once that gives you 400:1 leverage. I'll come in and out of this forum to educate further how forex works. Bye now!Ignored
