Should I wait for the chikou to break the kumo? What does everyone else look for? And does anyone enter a kumo breakout on the H1 chart or the H4?Ignored
DislikedOn any pair that has LOTS of pip movment (GBP/CHF, GBP/JPY to name a couple) sometimes you need to give it a bit more room to breath. In that case i would have put my stop below the Ks (blue line) as its also a key support that can make the market continue higher.
Also on your defence the trade was good but some sort of news has come out and affected all CHF pairs, so dont feel to bad about it.
People trade kumo breaks on all sorts of time frames, i prefer the 1H/4H/Daily mostly.Ignored
Dislikedhey everyone,
I've been studying how to use ichimoku recently, and i put my first trade in yesterday, and of course i lost..haha. I thought it was a kumo breakout, I will only trade kumo breakouts. I have been reading the forum in regards to trading ichimoku so I'm curious were I went wrong.
As you can see from the chart I provided, i got stopped out by the wick of the candle.
Here's my entry. Long GBPCHF at 1.6185, SL 1.6077
When I trade a kumo breakout, I look to see if a candle has closed on the outside of the kumo, a tenkan/kijun cross,...Ignored
DislikedI would also wait for the chikou to cross price, it's still above it in your chart.Ignored
DislikedYeah, I always use Chikou to confirm trend bias, above price for a bullish bias, below price for a bearish bias.Ignored

Ok, So next time there is a kumo breakout, I will watch out for news first, and see how it plays out.
I just wonder how much room I should give the kumo breakout before I place my entry. I hear some people wait for the Chikou to break out of the kumo?
What do you think Weasy2k? What do you wait for until you put your order in?Ignored
Dislikedsorry about that, I meant to say chikou above kumo. Trying to watch basketball, forums, charts, can't multitask to wellIgnored
DislikedFor me it all depends on how confident i am of a trade. If price breaks the kumo long but it took a LONG time to do so then i usually am less confident that the break will last and i will wait for Cs to break above....Ignored
DislikedHello Members,
Just want to share my trading strategy with all of you. Hope I'll get feed back on it from experienced traders.
On Ichimoku chart,
Buy when TS cross KS AND CS crosses price from below AND Future Kumo is Bullish
Sell when TS cross KS AND CS crosses price from above AND Future kumo is bearish.
30 pips for stop-loss.
I prefer to see 1hr. timeframe chart.
What do you suggest friends?
ThanksIgnored
