If you see a stategy on the charts that may work e.g when moving average 1 crosses moving average 2 and the price rises ...... how do you tell a computer to look for thecross over and calculate the price change.

DislikedWell, I meant backtesting software that you can use from command line. Backtesting settings could be in settings file and results should come to text/XML file. For example
#backtest.exe -s settings.txt -t "1980-2010" > results.txt
or something like that?
