DislikedHello Steve,
- When you say that TB "misses" the recovery trade opportunity and you notice "In time" and send a straight L3 trade. What's the criteria for this?
What would make sense to me is sending the L3 re-entry trade when the price goes past the opposite outside magenta line and then re-enters the dashed magenta (as a regular CT entry would be). Please correct me if I'm wrongIgnored
So, tomorrow I shall add the balance/trades per currency/margin filters to box trades and set up a new demo for the coming week trading 0.01 lots per $100 rather than $200 as at present. It should be interesting to see what happens with 2 pairs allowed.
We shall see.
DislikedAgree 100% Whip
As to returns, 0.75% daily is probably just about spot on. IMHO anybody returning > 1% daily is almost certainly underfunded.
That said remember even at < 1% daily there is no such thing as a 'set & forget' bot ...
Glad you are seeing light at the end of the tunnel SteveIgnored
So, it was necessary to stop TB considering balance etc once there is a trade already open. I have added consideration of the value of OpenTrades (calculated in CountOpenTrades() ) to the filters in IsTradingAllowed().
Would the coders care to glance over the function to see if you can spot any bloops?
It is not possible to add the balanced trading filter to box trades; TB send pending buy and sell trades, so balance cannot be a consideration.
Dislikedhi steve,
i think there is something wrong at the code. i had an open buy boxtrade and a new manual buy trade on the same pair. TB was drawing the breakeven line... but box trades should be handled separate from other trades!? - so no break even line...
or am i wrong in this case?
cheersIgnored
DislikedHi Steve, just wanted to make sure if this was supposed to happen or not (with the latest fix that aims at handling the box trade left in drawdown after closure of its twin trade).
In the attached pictures:
1. NZDUSD and GBPJPY box BUY and SELL open
2. both BUYS closed for profit
3. leftover SELL trades waiting to get into re-entry line to attempt recovery (as seen in the pictures)
My question: are the re-entry lines supposed to be there?
From what I understood from your last posts, the recovery entry was going to be taken as a regular CT trade,...Ignored
DislikedI haven't studied this system in depth yet to comment in detail but I did notice that on top of your attached pictures that the EA is telling you that you have insufficient margin percent to enter more trades. (see top left of chart picture).
Would this have something to do with it?

DislikedI think that the margin check doens't allow ANY trade to be taken, instead the number of pair traded just limit the number of different Cross to be traded.
So if you are on margin limit you can't trade anymore, if you have fullfilled the pair tb can take new trade only on the pair already opened.Ignored
DislikedSo, bottom line: If it weren't for the FkMinimumMargin filter the L2 recovery trade for the remaining box trade in DD would have been taken right at the spot where the sister trade closed?
If that's the case, is there a reason for the re-entry line to be drawn there?Ignored
DislikedHi Steve, I'm still running TOB live and it's just plugging away nicely, thank's to all the hard work you and others have put in. Gracias !!
But there is one little thing that is a bit annoying and that is, when the margin filter kicks in you have no screen information. Is it possible to have the message 'There is insufficient margin etc etc' but still have all the other info on screen ?
This could be useful especially with TB running on over 25 charts in order to easily see at a glance which are the box trades that are open and which are CT's....Ignored
