Going back to the original question, I don't think lots of study is necessary in order to trade the FX market or any market for that matter. I believe that unless you are going to come up with a mathematical certainty or help to write a winning AI for a hedge fund the best thing to do is read a beginners guide, find a risk management and trading strategy that you like and jump right in with a small low leverage account. I have started out with a 100% technical strategy as a beginner and am learning how the news effects my positions as I go. I generally read one recreational book a week so I have been focusing finance since I started but aside from that I just spend two hours a day five days a week analysing the market and taking technical positions and I am learning a lot.
I can't remember what the slang for it was but it used to be a fact that over educated people generally didn't make good pit traders back in the day because they would over analyse the trades and miss their opportunities.

Dear Admins
Would you please give me a voice? This is my fourth reply and I want to start a thread called "Ten Baggers" where I give an example of a probable news event that I am waiting for which would precipitate a fast 500 pip dive in the AUDUSD if it came to pass. I also want ask others to post their own possible news events that would impact currency pairs profoundly enough to yield a 1,000% profit if you took highly leveraged position based on them. Things like possibility of Brexit or the possibility of the Swiss National Bank dumping the Euro ceiling.
I only have $10,000 in my trading account and I figure that I need to multiply that figure by 10 in order to make enough to buy a nice house in 10 years if I trade conservatively. I am going to break my risk management rules and gamble big just one time, I need one big bet where can I risk three quarters of my equity for a return 10 to 1 or more and the thread I am proposing will help me a lot.
