DislikedFor everyone's information. Dear (Oli), Thank you for your email. Our markets are open from Sunday 5pm ET until Friday 5pm ET. Our current MT4 server time is in GMT which means that there would be 6 daily candles per week. We are going to be changing the MT4 server time to ET meaning that the daily candle will start from 5pm ET and will reflect the entire trading day. This means there will be 5 daily candle sticks per week with the ET time format instead of 6 daily candle sticks per week with the GMT time format. This change will occur when the...Ignored

What is Problem Based Learning and Why Should We Use It?
The term “Problem-Based Learning” (PBL) was originally developed by Barrows and Tamblyn (1980) for medical education. It is based on the Constructivist Theory of Learning.
PBL is a pedagogical strategy that uses open ended / ill-structured problems that mirror real-world problems. The authenticity of the problems helps students to transfer their knowledge and skills beyond the classroom, preparing them for the workplace and life in a rapidly changing world. The open ended nature of problems gives students the flexibility to approach it from different angles, to take different thematic sidelines according to their personal interests. This gives them control of the learning process, capturing their interest and motivating them to learn.
The style can drive people insane if they have not come across it before and dealt with the challenges and solutions problem solving provides for.
That's why teenagers think they know everything, because they haven't had to problem solve for themselves for survival and necessity as much as some adults and parents they have been socialised with.
I have found, through experience, that... the more one can problem solve, the easier it is to learn and retain that knowledge and bring it back again for when I need it again...
Tough Love can be a true gift.
We have a choice and can hand the gift back, do nothing or take it and run with it.
I'm not saying don't ask questions.
I'm just saying people can do a little work themselves as well. I did 2 days worth of longer than 14hrs per day to get the answer I need. Has anyone else done similar? AND Is anyone else willing to do similar to learn how to be a profitable trader?
Yes?
Come with me then and follow Dana's example. I am quite sure he has done the marathon as well.
Disliked{quote} I was asked by PM the very same question Sharoonas via a PM regarding the server changes and Daily bar changes. I did not know the answer to be honest. I was unaware of any changes until the message was received. Which is why I checked with Forex.com and asked what was going to happen. I know the answer to this question of if the viability of if the data from Forex.com is going to be good or no good, ....and it is within this thread's information. There was nothing for it (a saying where I live) - meaning there is nothing to do but think...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hello, I did a little research on this thread about the 6 daily bars vs. 5 daily bars matter. Dove/Post 15,061: "Somewhere on this thread I had explained about using a simulator with The Paradox. For one thing the Paradox creates its own data and the broker that it creates its data from is a broker that runs 6 days a week. In which I had explained very thoroughly. The broker MUST OPEN 17:00 EST on Sunday and close the following Friday at 17:00 EST. If the broker you use does not open and close at those times then The Paradox will not work....Ignored
QuoteDislikedOur markets are open from Sunday 5PM ET until Friday 5PM ET.
QuoteDislikedThe Daily does not switch over to a new candle until 22:00 GMT on my chart after Sunday's opening. That is one of many reason I dislike the MT4. You cannot program it for your time zone. And for traders like myself; all timeframes needs to be set at 17:00 EST for the end of day.
Think it's safe to assume that the Paradox will continue to work.
Best regards,
Hugo

Disliked{quote} For what it's worth, if you count the daily bars on Pepperstone they run to only 5 per week. CityIndex is the only other broker I've come across that has 6 daily bars for the week. The CityIndex server is set 1 hour behind GMT at the moment. Cheers DougIgnored
Disliked{quote} At City Index, we’re always looking for ways to improve your trading experience. We’ve listened to your feedback and will be making upgrades to our charting as a result. On the close of business 19th June 2020, we will be upgrading MetaTrader (MT4) to align with the market trading week that opens on Sunday at 5:00 PM EST (New York time) and closes on Friday, at 5:00 PM EST. As a result, all new daily candles will start and end at 5:00 PM EST resulting in 5 daily candles per week.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Yes that is correct. It is the Data that you are concern with and not the how many days a broker operates.Ignored
